Our residential building design services added to and renovated while preserving the classical architecture of residence in Sands Point, NY. We increased the space, almost doubling the size, and function, while maintaining the design of the original home. This included a new second floor bedroom, expanded living room, and renovated kitchen, center hall and guest bathroom.
The additional space required could not be provided within the existing building envelope. Therefore it could only be attained with an addition. However, the existing design was perfectly symmetrical, and it had an exterior material of old semi-worn painted brick. One of the worst things that occurs with additions and renovations to existing buildings is that they appear to be just stuck onto the building. For that to happen to this high-end home in this location would reduce the real estate value. How were we going to make this addition look like it was part of the original house?
